I was listening to a radio talk show about finance, Dave Ramsey, and he stresses the only thing that should put an adult into debt is the purchase of a home. Everything else, if you really WANT it, then it should be paid for in cash. Compare the “flash in the pan” joy of getting that new car, to the stress of living paycheck to paycheck to pay it off.
