Me and my and Mac can’t wait! :)

I’m so ready for YNAB 3 for my Mac. I don’t have enough RAM to leave Parallels open all the time, so the extra time to open it in order to access YNAB has resulted in not using it regularly. :-(

YNAB has changed my financial life! I use it on my Mac with Parallels, the only non-work app I’ve been willing to do this for, and I sooo look forward to running it directly on my Mac!

I’ve been using YNAB for a few years. The approach to managing money is like no other approach I’ve used before. The GUI interface before was done well but this upgrade will blow all the other applications out there off the map.

It is so nice to have a Zero-based budgeting program. I have had no problem importing history and exporting transactions! I wonder what advances await me in the new YNAB3. — an accounting professional.

I love using YNAB and am really looking forward to the new interface in YNAB3, the sneak peeks look so streamlined!

I have been checking in daily to see if YNAB 3 has been released. I’m really excited to start using it on the Mac. I’m trying to be patient, but it’s not easy! It would be awesome to start using it in time for the beginning of December. Switching mid-month is kind of a pain :)

I was just telling a friend how awesome this program is. I can’t wait to get the new version.

After using Quicken for years and struggling to get it to do what I knew a good budgeting program to do, I found YNAB Pro and have never looked back. This is how budgeting should be done.

I am getting really excited about YNAB 3. Looking forward to basically every feature that has been previewed, but especially the ability to carry negatives forward in a category, and the new reporting stuff.

I’ve been using YNAB to manage my budget since March… I’ve never felt on top of how I stand financially. And more prepared for the “non-monthly recurring expenses”. The ability to track money accumulating monthly in budget categories is a huge feature. Beyond that, I’ve been able to save more consistently, and deal with overspending in budget categories. I can’t wait for the new version of YNAB, I’m sure that it’s going to be great!

After switching to a Mac earlier this year, I (and my household) have seriously missed using YNAB regularly. I’m so keen to get back into it and start staying on track again! I tried creating a spreadsheet to use while we’ve been waiting for this release and you know what that taught me – YNAB is totally brilliant! (and great value). Thanks Jesse and the team.

YNAB has changed my life. For the first time in my 30+ years of working life, I am actually in control of my money. I understand where my money goes and I make conscience decisions about what I want to spend my hard earned cash on.

In the seven months since I started using the program, I’ve managed to lop 10,000 off my credit card debt. I am on target to be completely debt free within 18 months, which is an amazing achievement, given that using debt calculation software I was looking at 25 to 30 years just paying the recommended payments on things and robbing Peter to pay Paul.

I now control my earnings and spending…and that has given me a sense of control over my life. I cannot recommend YNAB highly enough.

Can’t wait for the Mac release. Thank goodness the time is close! I hope I’m one of the five winners of a free copy of YNAB 3. Thank you, YNAB!

I love YNAB because it actually helped me to budget, which was something I had been trying to get myself to do for years. And something I absolutely needed to learn NOW, when there’s still time to prevent myself from digging myself an inescapably financial hole.

Insofar as I use it, it helps me stay on top of my money, and it’s very easy to use.

I’ve moved to YNAB after using another money management product for many years and I love it. I love the principles behind it and thoroughly recommend it to any one. I feel more in control of my finances than I ever have. The one thing I’ve missed is that its not as easy to do some things that I used to be able to do so I am really excited about YNAB3 and all the improvements it offers.

Glad to be rid of Quickbooks Pro, Money, Quicken, and more. Tried Mint and liked it but nothing compared to YNAB. Have spread the word long before any updates or giveaways simply because I liked the product and considered it a fair price.

Hi, I’m Nick and I’m a PC, but YNAB3 may be just enough for me to make the switch. ;)

I love YNAB so much… where do I begin? It’s the only budget tool (software or otherwise) that I’ve actually been able to stick with. And the benefits are so much greater than just in my bank account… I realize that I even sleep better now. I think it’s because I used to lie awake at night frantically running through all the bills and things coming due, so much that I would keep myself awake for hours. Now I don’t have to! YNAB got me off of Ambien =)

Oh so excited! My Mac laptop is always on, so to not have to boot up my PC desktop would make me more likely to actually keep up with my budget on a regular basis.

YNAB is a great tool to becoming debt free and creating an emergency fund which most of us neglect. It introduces discipline and order to the chaotic world of cash flow! If you get off target it has the prompts to get you back on track. You can’t become wealthy if you have debt!

I’m really looking forward to using YNAB once the version 3 comes out! We’ve cut our personal salaries to the bone in order to continue writing paychecks to everyone who works for us in these trying times. This has brought our household budget to a razor-thin status. The financial tools and clarity provided by YNAB 3 would be wonderful to keep our small household on track. Other financial packages seem more interested in selling upgrades, and investing services, than the financial health of their clients. Thanks to everyone at YNAB for using your platform to bring the philosophical focus back to where it belongs…the financial health of the individuals and families using the software. More importantly, thanks to Jesse and family for making the commitment to push a style of financial sanity profoundly lacking in the good ‘ol USA up to and during this crisis. My vote is for Obama to lose Geitner, and hire Jesse!

YNAB has gotten us totally on track with our finances. I thought we were managing okay before, but it really put a fine point on all the stuff we were missing.

I got a new mac for my birthday and I still have to have my old dog of a computer set up so I can use YNAB. I cannot wait until YNAB3 is released. With my job, my paychecks are different every pay period and now with the YNAB philosophy, I pay all my bills at the beginning of the month where I used to pay bills on the 1st and 15th of the month. that took a while to get used to. To this day, I still find myself thinking ” crap, I forgot to pay that bill today”, then I remember that I paid all of the bills on the 1st of the month. YNAB is the best budget program out there. I LOVE IT and cant wait to load it to my mac.

I have managed to put away savings this year thanks to YNAB. About 5-8% of my net earnings, actually. Thank you very much for the excellent tips and the excellent software.

Great product……keeps me on track!

My wife and I recently started using YNAB pro. It has revolutionized our life. Granted, the first month transitioning to a regimented budget is a bit hard, YNAB makes it palatable. An huge added bonus is the amazing resources, the awesome saving tips, and the even more amazing Webinars. I have tried other software (e.g. Quicken, etc…) and they don’t hold a candle to YNAB. They are hard to use (I am a physician and used to work as a consultant and I am very good with computers and numbers) and miss the point of budgeting. YNAB helps you set goals and get the finances in order. It allows you to enjoy life save money with making needless purchases.
In summary, if the US government would start using YNAB, we would be out of debt in no time.

We’ve been working w/YNAB & it’s been good – but the fixes look like it will be what we need.

I can’t tell you how excited I am for YNAB3. Every since I decided I need financial software and need to get control of my finances I have researched EVERYTHING and YNAB3 is WHAT I WANT!! My New Years resolution is to get control of my finances and I have been holding back buying anything, waiting for YNAB3 for the MAC!!! Wooohooo It’s getting close!! and now maybe for free!!!

The last 6 months has been great. YNAB makes it fun saving money.

I realized I needed to get a precise handle on my monthly expenses. I wanted a simple yet effective budgeting program. I tried programs such as Microsoft Money and Quicken and found them to be more complicated than I wanted. The result: I didn’t keep my budget current.

Then I found YNAB. It was EXACTLY what I want. It does not try to manage my entire financial life. It does give meprecise control of your monthly budget and,the overhead of maintaining an accurate budget is minimal which means my budget stays current. Every few days I log onto my credit card and bank sites and download the “latest” transactions. The downloaded transaction files open in YNAB, I import them with a single click, and YNAB adds any new transactions to the appropriate register while ignoring any transaction that are already in the register. Magic!

I’m eagerly awaiting the next version.

YNAB has made such a difference – after only 1 year of using it, I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel (or at least the day when I’ll be out of debt for the first time in a LONG time!)

I have been a fan of Windows YNAB for a couple years, but when I moved to Mac, I was without a sound financial tool to manage my income & expenses. Now, finally, it’s in the Mac delivery room and I can almost hear the baby’s squeal.

I love YNAB! I use it for my home and business finances. It is so much easier to use than the other envelope budgeting software we’d used.

All I want for Christmas is YNAB 3!!! My emulator-free mac, oh how it longs to join in the fun and debt-free-ed-ness, please Master Jesse, make our dreams come true, let us budget too! We can hardly wait!

YNAB saved me financially.

For the first time in my 30 years of working full time and raising two kids, I am in control of my money.

I have money saved for periodic expenses (like car insurance), and for unexpected items (like home and car repairs). I even have Christmas fully funded this year!!! All of this was painless using YNAB.

It is such an amazing feeling to open up the program and see at a glance how I’m doing. No more fearing bills, or wondering if I can afford to take the kids on a vacation.

This release could not be more timely. Having abandoned my OpenOffice spreadsheets when the paychecks became intermittent, I have been flying without a net most of this year. I expect them (the paychecks that is) to be quite regular in the coming year and sorely need to right my financial ship before next December rolls around.

Oh, need I add that OSX is my system of choice?

I have been using YNAB since March,2007. It is the best program for budgeting that I have ever found! Really looking forward to the reports in YNAB3. Thanks for all your great work.

If everyone were to use YNAB 3, we would be able to retire the national debt, because we’d be able to influence our lawmakers to follow a similar program on the federal level. That’s how good YNAB is!

As our aging PC is about to croak, soon to be replaced with a Mac Mini (hmmm…wonder if I need a budget for that expense), my life will be complete with a YNAB 3.

This is the first financial software that I’ve used for more than two months. It has changed our lives forever and I can’t see us going without it. Jesse, I believe I will be a customer for life and can’t wait for the upcoming future changes to YNAB. Just awesome stuff.

Purchasing YNAB has been the best spending decision I ever made. Can’t wait for YNAB3 and all the new features….never thought it was possible to get so excited about a software release. I’m definitely a YNAB-nerd!!

I bought the version available for my mac several years ago but couldn’t figure it out. Looking forward to 3.

I tried YNAB one night because it was free and I wanted to start budgeting. I have been using it for 6 months now. I started to get earger to for the release of YNAB 3 so much so that I could not wait. So instead of waiting I tried Mint, Quicken 10, Mvelopes and several others….I was very disappointed with all of these programs. While they offered some features that I thought would be better and more convenient ….they did not come close to the simplicity and flexiblity of YNAB. In fact some of the features that were suppose to make bugeting easier made it more frustrating.
So now I am back to eagerly awaiting YNAB 3! I now truly appreciate what I was taking for granted.

Can’t wait for YNAB 3 – YNAB is so far superior to my old excel spreadsheet it isn’t even funny, and YNAB looks even greater! The bonus is now my husband understands the budget without needing me to explain every line of the spreadsheet!

YNAB is the reason that we have a baby! Before we sorted our life out with YNAB, we knew that it would be financially irresponsible to start the family that we wanted so desperately.

YNAB is great for a lot of reasons but the best thing about it is the stress reduction in my life. I used to get stressed out when I would spend money, even for an important expense. Now I feel comfortable spending because I know I have my income and expenses balanced appropriately.

Since my husband began his own business we had really struggled to get our personal finances under control with a changing income. YNAB has been the only budgeting program that we have found that is easy to use and allows us to adjust depending on the monthly income, which so many other budgeting programs do not allow for and we are able to use despite not being American.

We have not had an argument regarding money for months now, as we both decide on exactly where our money goes each month. I swear you have literally saved my marriage because the stress of a new business as well as trying to adjust to living with a new type of income was driving a major wedge between us! And the simplicity of YNAB has helped convince my husband that having a budget is a good thing!!

I’ve used an Adobe Air-based program. Air turns out some pretty nice software.

So combined with YNAB, I’m also excited. I’m still using Quicken 2005 on my Mac, because I haven’t found anything better than it, other than YNAB. But I just couldn’t use the spreadsheet version any more.

So bring it on! And my offer to proofread your help (I’m a technical writer/editor) still stands.

I love YNAB! I’ve tried Mvelopes, Dave Ramsey’s software and my own weak budgeting efforts, but YNAB has worked best for me. The other programs are good too, but YNAB is easiest for me to keep up with on a daily basis and I especially like the idea of saving for the buffer money so that you’re never losing your “month ahead” cushion. The money-saving tips are great too!

I love this program and have been using it for almost 6 months now. I used to have serious problems managing my money up until I started using YNAB. I have been waiting somewhat patiently for the release of YNAB 3 so i can use it on my mac. This has got to be one of the best pieces of financial software I have ever used before and I have gone through quite a few that have not even come close to the results I have achieved with YNAB. I’m really excited about YNAB 3. I’ve had to wait since I’ve been running on Mac OS X, and while I have a virtualization option available to me, it hasn’t been very convenient to load up to budget.

I like YNAB’s ease of use and the fact that I only have to use it once a week or so – which is one of the primary reasons I’d have to load up my virtualization, since I don’t use it for much else. The hassle was worth it, but this will make life even easier.

I was a veteran, devoted Quicken user and had tried every way to Sunday to get Q. to do envelopes — of course, to no avail! I took YNAB on as almost a 2nd full-time job for about a month, immersing myself in the videos and tutorials. I even requested an extension on my 15-day free trial (and got it!) to make sure I could do what I wanted. YNAB has met all my expectations an made living on a budget much more possible. I am waiting with bated breath for YNAB 3!

YNAB (You need a budget) is a much handier and more thorough tool for setting up a person/family budget and then comparing it with monthly expenses over time than the “big name” home finance software, in my experience.

I love YNAB, and I can’t wait for YNAB 3. I’ll finally be able to run it on my computer, instead of having to use Nancy’s all the time (I run Linux, not Windows.) YNAB is more than a computer application, it’s also a complete financial management methodology, and one that makes sense, even for those of us who don’t speak “money talk”. I started using YNAB about a year ago. I was looking for more than a fancy check register. I had tried Quicken and Money. To me they were simply glorified check registers that added a little budget utility. I tried a couple of accounting style software which seperated categories into accounts. I wanted a software product that focused on the budget, but also had the check register. That’s when I found YNAB. It helps focus on budgeting and has allowed me to start reaching my goals. I recommend YNAB to anyone who wants to gain control of their money. I will get YNAB 3 as soon as its available!

Love YNAB! Keeps me on track throughout the month and year.

The system has been so helpful, and that’s with a do-it-yourself spreadsheet I cobbled together in Numbers. It’ll be so much easier to keep track of with dedicated software!

I have been without YNAB for almost a year since I purchased a mac. My now non-budget has gone down the tubes completely. I have been waaiiiiiiting sooo long for this to come out.
And now I’m broke and can’t afford the upgrade when it comes out so I reaaallly hope I win. I wonder if shamelessly begging will work. Seriously. I miss YNAB. Its the only way I have ever been able to make sense of where my money is going. So my money has a message for you Jesse: “I’m lost without you.”

YNAB is already awesome, and YNAB 3 promises to pack even more awesomeness into the program! I’ve tried all the budgeting programs out there, but until YNAB I had never found one that actually helped us to change our spending habits. YNAB teaches you to actually create and live on a budget, set realistic goals, and pursue a lifestyle free from the bondage of debt! All the other programs just help you keep better track of your mistakes and juggle things around after the fact.
The coolest thing about the YNAB community is that you really feel like you are among friends who want to help you to learn and grow, not a bunch of people selling you software, and then doing nothing more to help. With all that said, I have not been as excited about the release of a software program in quite some time, let me tell you, Brother!

I LOVE YNAB!!! YNOT YNAB?

I’ve used every previous version of YNAB and the simple interface along with the zero-based budget principles make this the best budgeting software out there. I’m a diehard Quicken user but Quicken’s budgeting software has always been too jumbled and hard to use — so I use both Quicken and YNAB.

YNAB + Mac = A match made in HeAvEn!!

YNAB has taken our financial outlook out of the dark and into the light–now we know in advance how much we really have to spend and can allocate accordingly. Its a simple (almost fun!) approach hat simply works.

I’m a Life Coach by trade. One axiom of my practice is: “If you don’t manage your energy, something or someone else will.” I often find that with clients who have difficulty managing their personal energy, there’s a corresponding failure to manage their money as well. I believe you can’t teach what you don’t know, so I set out to get myself a budget. I found YNAB and it has changed my life. In learning more about managing my financial energy, I’ve learned tons about managing personal energy; that becomes wisdom I can share with my clients. I have them research budgeting software and pick what they think will work best for them. In each instance I’ve done this, I mention YNAB as a useful tool. So far, after doing the research to make an informed decision, each of my clients has chosen YNAB for themselves as a vehicle to personal & financial empowerment. When we manage our energies–personal or financial–we become better people. Better people create a better world. I’ve been using the XL version on my Mac for months and am eagerly awaiting YNAB3.This is tthe first time in my 67 years that I am actually on top of my monthly outgo, have built-in savings for periodic (non-monthly) expenses, a contingency fund for unanticipated expenses, and am well on the way to cleaning up my credit card debt…all this without any increase in income. I swear that YNAB is a miracle!!!

And “whacking the mole” is actually fun ^_^

Help! I really need a budget and software to help me track my finances! So far it has been total hit or miss, and before my lack of organization backfires on me, I need a better plan. I downloaded another program earlier this year when it looked like your software would be a while. But, I still haven’t used it because it isn’t what I thought it would be. So…I’m thinking I will just wait and begin new with YNAB3!!!!! This may be my only chance to enter because I don’t use the kind of technology you listed for multiple entries. So, I’m just letting you know how excited I am about the coming YNAB 3!

Can’t wait for YNAB3!! I have tried several budgeting software programs and this is BY FAR the best – the only one I saw that takes into account a dynamic, ongoing need to assign each dollar a “job”, instead of just tracking spending. Congrats on a great product, and I can’t wait for the next release.

I’m always posting about YNAB on the various chat sites I go to, because it has made such a difference in my life! I downloaded it during a rough period in our finances, and following the methodology behind the program (”The 4 Rules”) helped us to stay out of debt! Now that our income has increased, we’ve been able to put money aside for an emergency fund, a Christmas fund, and our baby-to-be fund!! No more wasting money on piddly stuff – we have focus! We have a plan! We have a budget!!

Cannot wait for YNAB3. I’ve lost control of my finances trying to MAKE Quicken do what I want. It will be quite the relief to have a program already designed to manage my finances the way I want it done.

YNAB made it possible for me to budget and pay for law school without incurring any debt. Woohoo!

YNAB is the best money management program I’ve ever used, and I’ve used 3 other ones over a period of almost 30 years. I even had one once that handled budget categories similar to the way YNAB does, but it was so much more complicated than YNAB that there was no comparison. Both my daughters have purchased YNAB within the last few months, and I’m trying to get my son interested in it. Can’t wait to see what YNAB 3 is like. Me and Mac here can’t wait until YNAB3 is released. Although, I think Mac may get lonely since I won’t be waking up at midnight just to check my email for something from Jesse saying “IT’S DONE and ready for beta testing”. Although, Quicken might get a little upset since he will be retired. Shhh, I haven’t told him yet, I want it to be a surprise. I think I will have to delete him quickly so that he doesn’t try anything funny with YNAB… ;)

Hello, I have purchased YNAB pro which I can only use on my old PC. This program is the only reason I keep this PC around. I am desperately waiting to receive the new YNAB 3. YNAB has helped us pay off a huge chunk of our line of credit and helped us get our monthly spending in control. It has reduced the stress of our household and quite literally is a savior. YNAB is one of the most important tools in life and managing money. I think YNAB should be available to every high school student as a required credit for graduating.

I’ve been using YNAB for a couple of years now and it has put me back in control of my finances. And I’ll tell you I’ve used mint.com too… and YNAB is better – because of the underlying principles that come embedded in the functionality of the software. It’s not just a software… it’s a personal finance coach.

I purchase YNAB Pro for my brother and his wife a month ago as a wedding gift becasue I’m the nerd in the family and have been totally addicted to my YNAB Pro for over a year. I hope they get as addicted as me, because it’s been life changing for our family.

I’m so excited to get YNAB 3 with all the great tools to make it even easier to make our money work even harder! So excited, that I may have to hold the free upgrade hostage. I feel like I’m stealing half their gift, keeping the free upgrade …. but I just can’t wait to have the upgrade! And hey, they can learn all the tricks of their YNAB Pro and THEN upgrade, right!

Seriously – this program is addictive, in a fun budgeting sort of way. It’s intuitive and makes looking at your finances (yes, even with a partner!) a painless endeavor. I’m a newish user and still working out some of the subtleties, but it is a powerful and comprehensive system. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Quicken has always been terrible for budgeting. It says, “You are over
your budget. Better luck next time. May I interest you in a pie chart?”

I’ve dropped it in favor of YNAB, which is true budgeting software. You
make a plan for your money, you slurp in your bank download that shows
where you actually spent it, and then …within the software you adjust
your plan for the next month to compensate.

I’m posting this endorsement also because YNAB is a very small shop,
consisting of CPA budgeting guru Jesse Mecham and one programmer. And I think that’s cool.

I’ve been using YNAB for over 2 years now and I can’t imagine life without it! My life AYNAB (After YNAB) has changed for the better. Yes, I need a budget. I really, really do!

Though I’m a Dave Ramsey Fan and thus all about budgets and no debt, I use YNAB since it is so much better than Quicken or other programs at actually FORCING you to budget and forecast into the future….I appreciate the elegant way it addresses money and money issues, and find no conlict between it and the Dave Way… in fact I find that they compliment each other very well.

I thought I had a good handle on my finances but YNAB proved me wrong. YNAB just blew all of my past efforts at budgeting, saving and controlling my expenses out of the water! This is THE software you need to manage your finances, and YNAB 3 promises to make the whole process so much easier. Can’t wait until YNAB 3 is released!

Earlier this year my wife lost her job. Up until that point we were a dual income, “separate finances” couple. When she lost her job, we sat down and figured WE need to do something different. We needed to come up with a plan to live by. So we started our search to find a budget tool. After some searching and trying out multiple systems we stumbled across YNAB. We downloaded the software and setup our budget. What an eye opener. I am glad to say there is no more separate finances. WE are truly partners in our relationship and finances. After several months of using your system (and one less income) we enjoy the one month cusion. The greatest feeling is when a bill comes that you have been budgeting for and you JUST PAY IT. YNAB has changed our lives for the better!!! Looking forward to YNAB 3.

We have been using YNAB for a little over a year. We find we have more control over our money and more money than we have ever had. For retirees it has been a god send budget. We live within our means, have a good savings, and have money left over.
We thank our lucky stars that we have this program. I wish more people could be introduced to it. In todays’s economy I think it would “save” and help so many people to live with what they have.

I can’t believe that YNAB 3 can be any better than what we have, but if it is I know it will be great.

I’ve used several different personal finance software options and none are better than YNAB. It’s simple, but has all the features you need–and nothing you don’t. Love the reporting and the budget functionality. It’s a really powerful tool for telling your money want to do (or where it went) and you can tell it was designed with a lot of thought.

I use YNAB for everything. I would hate it if it disappeared. I have it on Parallels. I hate Windows but I can’t not budget. Georgina

I heard about YNAB on the Today show about a year or so ago. I looked it up but never bought it. I thought, “How could one save money doing things the YNAB way?” A couple of months ago, I wanted to upgrade my MS Money program and began looking at other alternatives. I found a free trial version of YNAB on the internet and decided to give it a try – can’t go wrong! The first month I found $1000.00 extra in my account!!!! I bought the software! How did I live without this program this long? I have told everyone about the program, about the extra 1K and the trial version they could use to try it out and find their hidden money! There are still some skeptics and I keep working on them.

YNAB has been such a great software. I highly suggest it to everyone! I am a merit badge counselor for Boy Scouts. The boys need to learn how to budget and I use the free version so they can complete their Personal Management Badge. I have suggested to the parents to use the Pro version to help with their budget. Got YNAB a few months ago, and it has been great! I’ve always been pretty budget-savvy, but this has helped me become oh-so-much better, and the new features on YNAB 3 sound fantastic.

Where was this 10 years ago, ja, ja, ja… I have been using YNAB now for almost a year and it has made a huuuuge difference in how I handle my personal and family finances. I tried everything, from Quicken to Money to Mvelopes, to Mint, but nothing did it for me. The principles behind YNAB is what really sets it apart from the rest. The last argument that my wife and I had about money was ge last argument that my wife and I had about money. We found YNAB by chance and it’s the best thing that’s happened to us financially.

The concept is so simple that it just works.

We went from having overdrafts to finally having a savings. Sooooooo nice to implement the buffer and pay bills all at once for the entire month. Simply put this methodology saved our marriage.

Love the current product and I’m psyched about the updates and convinced my sister to use YNAB 3 when it’s released (she’s a die-hard Mac user.)

I am in week one of my first budget (ever) and I am over 40. Your software was highly recommended but I have a MAC so I’m waiting for the new version. I am clumsily using Excel ( I use Windows at work and admit I more comfortable with Microsoft tools) as my budget software until I can try your software. I have Quicken but don’t like it. I hope your software lives up to its reputation….thanks.

Im so excited to be able to have complete control over my money in a fun way. Your program seems like a fun game rather than a chore. As an artist type this makes a huge difference to me (not to mention how well it deals with an unpredictable income). Ive already watched all the tutorials in the past and was bummed I couldnt use it with a MAC easily. Then I found out you are coming out with it for MAC asap!!!! Im already addicted. Prior to YNAB I was double recording my transactions in Quicken and my own Exel worksheet for a budget. The double recording was a source of contention in my marriage. Thank you, you’ve saved me time and stopped frustration in our marriage.

I think I’ve tried every personal finance program on the market. So far YNAB makes the most sense. Very easy to use. I’m jazzed about the upcoming release. Looks like it’ll raise the bar significantly.

I started in 2007 trying to get out of $61,000.00 of debt (not including the house). Now I am out of debt and have over a few months salary in the bank! I purchased YNAB for my daughter and it saved her when she was laid off from her job. I will use each version of YNAB that comes out!

I began using YNAB about two years ago and it completely changed the way I look at and think about money. Best budgeting program I have used. The zero-based budgeting is a great approach to not living paycheck to paycheck. After using Quicken for years and not getting anywhere with my budget, it is great to have a budget program that works as a register instead of a register program that has a budget in it.

I have gone from being over $20,000 in Credit Card debt to having money saved!!

Still working on living the YNAB way but I can’t wait for YNAB3!!! Thank you Jesse.

YNAB3 will be an early Christmas present to myself – seriously I am that geeky! Buying YNAB was a turning point in my financial life. It’s been the single best purchase I have ever made and I can’t wait for YNAB3, it looks amazing.

I am new to YNAB, just got the program in the middle of August, so am still new to it. However, it does appear to be an effective tool to manage a budget. I wish I would have waited a couple of more weeks, then I would have been eligible to try YNAB3 for free.

I’m looking forward to YNAB 3 – I bought the YNAB Pro and 2 months later my PC stopped working. We purchased a Mac, so I’m looking forward to this new version. Keep up the good work!

I just purchased YNAB about 6 weeks ago, and I am already starting to feel more in control of our money. I keep a much closer eye on things and can really see where our dollars go. It’s a great tool, better than any other software product I have used for budgeting.

I’m never really good at math and needed a program to help me with my budget… I started with Microsoft Money and that worked for awhile but they updates stopped ocming adn I lost my “steam” as it were, for budgeting. Now along comes YNAB, and boy do I ever! I have read the tutorials and love the features, especially the “envelopes” so I can have money in different “pots” yet keep it it all together in one bigger (more interest) account. I can’t wait for this new verion to come out. We are really tightiening teh strings here… but I’m digging the money for this outr of somewhere, I gaurantee it!

Oh sorry, I just realized that I am supposed to sing the praises of YNAB. That’s easy to do, considering how AWESOME I think YNAB is! I have been using it for several years, and with it comes freedom to truly know where I’m at financially, unlike when I used Quicken. Quicken’s budgeting feature is laughably horrible, and as bad as Quicken is at budgeting, YNAB is good at it.

After Quicken left me out in the cold, and Microsoft Money kept changing,I had to look for something a little more specialized. That was when I got hooked on YNAB. I’ve been using YNAB Pro for one year, and while setting up the program, realized we were heading down a path of destruction. No software has been able to do that in less time than it took to answer some basic questions. With some online classes and a little bit of tweaking we are on our way to a debt free life….it won’t be tomorrow, but we are now on the right path, thanks to YNAB. What a wonderful feeling being in control of your money instead of stressing about when the next bill will need to be paid. If YNAB could do all of this, I can hardly wait to see what is in store for me with YNAB 3.

We love YNAB so much. It’s simplicity, user friendly and gets the job done. I really love how simple it is.

YNAB has turned my family’s finances around. A year and a half ago we had no idea how we were spending our money and we didn’t have any savings. I’m really looking forward to YNAB 3. YNAB Pro changed my life and worked so well for me personally that I also use it to manage the budget of our business. Cashflow is no longer a problem, thanks to YNAB.

We have been using YNAB since this summer and love it. We used to use Microsoft Money. This is so much better. Instead of looking at the past, we are planning the future!

Since I do my finances on my Mac, I can’t WAIT until YNAB 3 comes out!

YNAB is amazing budgeting software! I can easily prepare a monthly budget based on my previous month’s earnings. It is easy for me to see where I overspend, so I can put that money toward something more worthwhile. With this software I’ve managed to save money, keep my debt down, while all the while getting more enjoyment out of the money I make. It’s amazing! It’s more of a lifestyle change than simply financial software. I’m a fan for life!

This is the best financial software available for Windows, without question.

YNAB has helped me stay on top of my budget. I like being able to build up funds in each category over time. I mean, who doesn’t have expenses that occur on intervals other than monthly? Hello YNAB3, goodbye Quicken!

YNAB has revolutionized the way I do budgeting. I was previously living check to check, wondering where my money had gone. I used to open up my credit card statement and be surprised by how much I’d spent. I tried budgeting myself using excel but found it hard because I was having to forcast how much was coming in when I live on a variable income. With YNAB, you only budget money you have, which has made all the difference. It’s also enabled me to live on a zero based budget, and really focus on paying off my debt. I’ve also really been able to trim my budget by seeing what all my monthly costs really are. Thanks so much!

I am really looking forward to the updates in YNAB 3.x. The YNAB system has really helped my family get through the last couple of years. We know where our money is going and every dollar has a job. Running YNAB under an emulator on MAC is better than nothing, but YNAB3 looks soooo good I can hardly wait. And I will have a smile on my face when I finally am able to wipe WinXP off my MAC. YNAB3 will be worth waiting for.

YNAB is great. I thought about writing a poem to post, but couldn’t think of anything to rhyme with “budget”.

I have been using YNAB for a couple of years now and I have not looked back. After trying various budget software including the big names, YNAB was the answer my cash flow was looking for. Now with a new baby on the way I am confident that my spendings/savings are all under control. I am really looking forward to theYNAB 3…. I have already budgeted for it in YNAB. YNAB has accomplished the nearly impossible!! I’ve known I needed to develop and use a budget for almost 40 years. I’d dabble at it, give up and guesstimate my way through. I do keep track of balances and such AND I’ve been very lucky. Now YNAB actually has me budgeting!! I can’t sing your praises enough!

It took me a while to get it all figured out, but we are close to our one year YNAB anniversary, and I couldn’t be happier with a piece of software. For the first time ever, we feel like we have control of our financial situation!

The only budget software that keeps me honest.

I’ve been waiting on YNAB 3 as a Mac user for a couple of months now. I tried every single personal finance package available for the Mac, and not a single one did the things I needed–interface with my credit union, provide bank statement reconciliation, and provide proactive budgeting tools. There were several other software applications that provided 1 or 2 of these things (Budget, Moneywell, Fast Finance(sp?), Quicken, …), but none did all of them; in fact, most of them had fatal programming flaws that caused me to distrust them with my data. In particular, I thought Moneywell was going to be my answer, since it did the basics, and I already had a license for it, but it had problems saving my inputs to my file, so I canned it.

I’ve used Quicken on the Mac for over 20 years, but it just doesn’t offer any real budgeting tools, particularly in the budget planning/envelope mode that Dave Ramsey teaches. I read enough about YNAB to conclude that it was the only real solution for me (I’m not interested in online budgeting tools.), so I’ve been allowing my debit card slips, withdrawal slips, and checks to pile up until YNAB is released. Here’s hoping that it’s everything it’s advertised to be.

Buying YNAB at the beginning of the year changed my life. I paid off three credit cards, started a savings account (and actually put money in it), and have no fear of losing control and not being able to pay my bills. I can’t wait for YNAB 3’s fun new features!

I’ve been using YNAB in Mac with Vmware fusion. Now that it’s going to be Mac native, I’m thrilled. YNAB has helped me tremendously in noticing how much ‘junk’ spending I’m doing. Thans YNAB and eagerly awaiting YNAB 3.

YNAB originally helped me be able to set aside money FOR my Mac, but I didn’t realize there wasn’t a version of YNAB out for Mac at that point. Fortunately, I have VMWare Fusion and can still use it (though I will agree, it is slightly inconvenient at times).

Either way, I’m sure I’ll be purchasing YNAB 3 if I don’t win (which is highly likely; not to win, that is)! =D

YNAB3 looks hot – hundreds already responding to this on day one?! I haven’t used the prior versions yet, but I like what I see in the sneak peeks here, and I want to get my hands on a copy.

I went through the same accounting program as Jesse, and he was always at the top of a very talented pool of future accountants.

I’ve been a long time YNAB Basic user, and have been waiting for YNAB 3 so I can have a cross-platform solution. Can’t wait!

Very excited about seeing this new version. I am using YNAB 4.1 (Mac version) and it clearly does not ahve all the cool features this one does!!!

After only my second month using YNAB, I realised quickly that I had to make some drastic changes to my financial situation. I jumped right in and fixed the problems and now rather than spending all my money on bills and debts I have money left over from each pay. I’m not very good with these things but considering my economic and health situation, and the positive effect YNAB has had on me, I am glad for the chance to win a free copy. A free copy would be great, I am on a fixed income.

When I started with YNAB Pro, I had used other very popular programs that never balanced out my accounts, no matter how many times I tried, errors. The first thing I saw was YNAB accurately balanced every account, this took an enormous weight off my shoulders as I could now concentrate on the spending, where it was all going and be confident since at the end of each download, YNAB agreed with my bank.

Second, I was already saving for a rainy day, but putting the tabs next to each other really helped me to see how much I saved in each account and how much I had available to work with.

Third, I noticed that some bills would come twice in a pay period, and that threw my so-called budget off! I say so-called because I had a budget, then the gas bill came twice in a pay period (floating dates) and I had not planned for that. YNAB put me on track by being so far ahead and putting all the info in front of me on one page, I was now ready for those two-bill cycles. Amazing.

My 2 problems were “give every dollar a job” and “rolling with the punches”. I now do both better. I am still working on the first, but the second I am ‘almost’ completely there.

Since the ‘Zero Based Budget’ I no longer am in limbo as to how things are, each dollar has a job. Even if I go over in one area (every month is different) I am able to make adjustments (thank you) and stay on track.

I just recently needed my credit checked for insurance and they say I have A+ credit, this was a pleasant surprise. I had been told before I got YNAB Pro that I was a bit below ideal with my scores. I don’t care for credit cards, but those scores are there and affect you anyway .

My favorite thing about YNAB is I am 1 month ahead on regular monthly spending. I have been trying to get to that point for so long, other programs came close, but YNAB Pro did it for me. Maybe it is just me, others seem to do spreadsheets and the other programs fine, this was the first I was able to negotiate accurately. Taking a risk on paying for yet another finance program (YNAB Pro) was worth it’s weight in gold. I do believe that I am at good ratings and the comfort of being a month ahead because the program helped me to look with that extra month and beware and therefore relax a bit.

I own a mac (and prefer using it) so I would love a version I could put on my Mac to deal with my finances. It would complete the wonderful experience I am having using the Mac.

YNAB has taken us from occasional card refusals at the supermarket towards the end of the month when we hit our overdraft limit to never having less than £500 in the bank. What more do I need to say?

I have been using YNAB for 3yrs now. The difference it has made to my financial life and the sometimes unperceived stress that trails after is just phenomenal. I quite happily live within my means and have noticed that as a result my standard of living has actually increased not decreased as many would assume with ’sticking to a budget’. I constantly recommend YNAB to all my friends who query how I have no credit cards and yet seem to able to by whatever I want and need, and why unexpected medical bills or other seemingly unanticipated expenses don’t send me into a panic. I have used other envelope type systems over the years but the layout not to mention support and mindset change that YNAB offers is far superior. Thankyou so much.

Three months into using YNAB Pro and we both love the liberation it brings about money! Finally my wife and I don’t feel guilty about spending money, since we’ve given every pound (yes pound, Scottish user!) a job!

And what’s even better, just as YNAB 3 is about to be introduced, we have met our buffer! YNAB has helped us be more organised about our money, and it hardly takes any time at all to do. Best software I’ve ever spent money on!

YNAB is great. We love it!

I started using YNAB 4 months back and now I am seeing the whole picture of where my money is going and how much I spend on things I never wanted. I wish I got in earlier. For anyone planning to start organizing their finances the first step should be YNAB as it gives lot of insight on how personal financing is done and how it should be done. Thanks Jesse for providing me with one of the greatest budgeting tool.

My wife and I used YNAB (and an envelope system) to get our finances in order and bank 100% of her salary. We wanted to see if we could afford to have her quit her job and raise our child…it worked. Since then we have bought a new house, have two children and she is a stay at home Mom. The program doesnt create money out of nowhere, but it forces you to be honest with yourself and forces you not to spend more than you have. If you have a bad month, you cant chalk it up as a bad month and move on, you have to make up for it on the subsequent months.

I’m stoked about the new feature for Rule 4! I want to carry over some negative numbers! ;)

I am really looking forward to YNAB 3. I converted from a regular old Excel spreadsheet over to YNAB in August and fell in love with the entire system. I’m a huge Dave Ramsey fan and I was so excited to finally find budget software that could incorporate my different savings accounts and keep a running tally.

In reading about the entire YNAB system, I was convinced to pull part of my emergency fund in to my checking account so that I could begin using the YNAB buffer system. I love YNAB and can’t wait for YNAB3, I can’t wait to be totally comfortable with my budget, my savings goals and know what each dollar is for in our account.

This will be vital for me early next year, when I FINALLY take the plunge and leave the Public Service which has been my security blanket for over 10 years and go into my own business (via a franchise) which coincidently is for helping people save dollars on their home bils (phone, insurance etc) without costing them a cent.

Very excited about this venture and feel a lot more secure knowing that YNAB will help me achieve this dream.

Using Pro since April of 2007. The new product just looks outstanding. The team behind the product is outstanding. The methods behind the product are solid and work. The release is just the beginning, ynab 3 will be a building block for all the other functionality wishes.

Switched from PC to mac but couldn’t bring my YNAB Pro over so am feeling helpless without my YNAB system. Please hurry! I need YNAB 3!

I love that YNAB stores its data in a single file that can be shared among multiple computers. (Hopefully this doesn’t change in YNAB3!)

Its pretty straightforward to use the software, took a little time to get used to the register in the first month or two, after that its pretty much straightforward. And QUICK! [which means you are more likely to keep on using it... think practical]

Will use again and agin, very good software, easy download, great price.
