I’m considering downloading it but unlike many other iPhone purchases, I was not able to make this an “instant” purchase because the price point, in my honest opinion, is much too high for what it does. How did you determine this price point? To me this looks more like a 1.99 app, especially when compared to the other budgeting apps in the store, and even more considering that the user must have YNAB on the desktop. Most companion apps are not priced this high.
Just downloaded it this AM (thanks for the email BTW). Works flawlessly. Used it this morning at the gas station. Entered a cash transaction on the fly. Love it! What a fantastic partner to a already wonderful piece of software.
Congratulations! I am ecstatic and I don’t even have a smartphone (yet!). What I *do* have is wonderful YNAB itself and a smart, customer-sensitive, ingenious team led by Jesse. The future is ever brighter; personal finances have never before been so delightful to manage.
Purchased the app last night and it synced to my desktop flawlessly! I love YNAB and recommend it to everyone and now to have an app is fantastic! I know there will be upgrades made and have a few minor requests:
1. Password protected – even though the Iphone app does not link up to bank accounts it still would be nice to have the option to put in a password to open the Iphone app in case someone were to have my phone (other than myself) and open the app and see how much money I have in what accounts.
2. Having a total of all accounts at the bottom of the list just like the desktop version has so you know what you are worth at a glance (net worth amount).
Even though I have only had the app for a day I khow I am going to love it because I already love my desktop verison, and I look forward to all the upgrades that I am sure you are planning as we type!
I just started using the desktop version about a month ago and I would really like to be able to use the wonderful features that I saw you created for iPhone on my BlackBerry Storm 2. I would so love this!!! I guess it would really be for the mobile windows v.? Are you all thinking of doing this next?
Our next serious look is in the Android direction — though something multi-platform would obviously really really get me excited since we’re limited on how much we can do in a given timeframe.
Just ordered my iPod Touch from Amazon…. just for this! Thanks for the heads-up. Can’t wait to start using it.
