YNAB 4: Extended Language Support

We’re really happy to report that YNAB 4 has extended language support for…pretty much any language your computer supports.

Please note, we didn’t translate YNAB 4 into your language, but we are now allowing you to use your language when naming accounts, recording transactions, adding budget categories., etc.

It was tough for CS to tell people we couldn’t let them add transactions in their native language. Glad to support it now!

  1. Good stuff. Good compromise between English and full translation.

I can see why a full translation is difficult with regards to screen layout etc

Keep up the good work. Release YNAB 4 1 day early please! The wait is unbearable!

    Cheers,

    David

  2. Jesse, can YNAB 4 print special characters, can it export files that contain them, and can it search for them? What a joy to have this now.

    • The app isn’t localizable yet. It’s something we’re exploring, but not anything we’ve committed resources to at the moment.

  3. Finally Chinese is supported! I’m so happy to see this happen in YNAB4. But it will be even better to support this in YNAB3 ;-)
