YNAB for iPhone LITE moves to “In Review”

Woot! That’s progress folks. Let’s just hope we get green-lighted (lit?) here shortly.

The full version, (the one you’ve been using if you’ve had YNAB for iPhone up to this point) is still “Waiting for Review.”

If the Lite (free) version does become available before the full version, I’ll still let everyone know, so you can start using Cloud Sync asap. The differences between Lite and Full can be found here.

Once the full version has the green light, you could upgrade, then uninstall the Lite version.

I’m trying unsuccessfully not to get my hopes up.

  3. Great news, cant wait. I really want to start using 4 but need the updated budget that the iphone gives so i always know if i can get that coffee :)

  4. I can’t wait for it to be available!! I’ve been checking the blog and the App Store multiple times per day praying for it to be available. I LOVE YNAB 4!! Thank you Jesse and the team for creating and bringing it to us.

  5. ANY of them will be great after all this waiting. Can’t stand having receipts in my pockets for so long, until I get to my computer and register everything.

  6. Im looking forward to using one version, even if it’s for my iPad at half resolution. It’ll be easier to use my PC, Andoid, and iPad without getting all confused. [=

  7. Awesome!….

The first thing I did this morning was roll over in bed, grab my iphone and check to see if YNAB was available….

    • Is it available? I keep checking & the only thing that shows up in the App Store when I search for it is an app about hybrid cars.

    • The Lite app is a totally separate app, so it won’t integrate any data from the current app. (You just set up cloud sync and you’ll be current.)

When the full version is approved and you update, that data will carry over.

  8. Good news. So we would run Lite until such time as the full app is approved. Do a final sync on Lite, install the update to the full app then re-sync with that one to get all the transactions into the new version of the app ? Then uninstall lite? Will we lose any geosmart data/ favourites (as those is not available in the Lite version?) Just to get it straight in my head.

    • When you update to the Full, your favorites and geo data will remain from your prior version. The Lite app is totally new and separate and won’t affect the current app’s data at all.

    • Well they could at least have a second “pile” for apps that are just 2.0′s or updates of apps already approved. Why should a 2.0 update have to sit in the same heap of garbage that the article discusses? From my perspective it sounds like they could better organize/ streamline the process. But I really know nothing of app development or reviewing… Just seems like common sense.

I think G Prince probably has it right. This whole corrupt app ordeal has probably brought the review process to a stall. My app updates on the iPad and iPhone has been noticeably quiet over the last several days. But who really knows!

  9. I wanted to comment to say that I am super anxious for YNAB 4, and wanted to commend the entire YNAB family for your quality of product thus far!! YNAB has made my financial budgeting so much easier from the days of my Excel spreadsheet. I try to spread the word as much as I can, and try to help others realize how your app and program can help them achieve their financial goals. I have instituted the Elizabeth Warren formula for my own budget, and have seen others use Dave Ramsey’s method. I hope you know you are changing people’s lives by minimizing the time and effort for people’s tracking of expenses, and giving them more time and freedom to spend elsewhere. I hope Apple approves soon, and look forward to ALL updates in the future!!
P.S. Next update going to include a PDF saver (for bills paid, receipts)?
    YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!
