I purchased. Where’s my license key?
You should have received an email with your digital download information. Click on the link in that email and you’ll be taken to a page that gives you the download link(s) for your purchase and provides the license key.
If you didn’t receive your digital download information email, let us know!
Can YNAB be used in other countries?
Absolutely. There are plenty of happy users in countries around the world.
Is YNAB Pro for the Mac in the works?
Yes. You can be notified of its release if you’d like by signing up.
Where are the bonus files?
If you purchased Pro, you’ll find them toward the bottom of your download page. If you purchased YNAB standard, they’re bundled with the .exe or .zip file.
What is the Upgrade Policy?
YNAB originally launched in September of 2004 and since then, upgrades have been free. YNAB Pro launched in November of 2006 and since, then its upgrades have been free as well. With the launch of 2.0 we asked for donations (thank you!). We like our “tell your friend” policy where we don’t charge much of anything for upgrades and you tell your friends.
Is YNAB compatible with Google Spreadsheets?
At this time, Google Spreadsheets does not allow for the formulas that YNAB uses to function. We’ll have to be patient with this one.
Can I put my budget on a flash drive?
Yes. If you’re using YNAB Pro, your budget is a .ynab file. Keep in mind that the computer you’re using must have YNAB Pro installed for the .ynab file to be recognized. If you’re using YNAB standard, your budget is the YNAB spreadsheet file and the machine will need to have Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice for the spreadsheet to be readable.
Can I edit YNAB to suit my personal preferences?
The YNAB spreadsheet is flexible and you can modify it however you like as long as you don’t redistribute it. YNAB Pro, while obviously not as flexible, can still be very customized for many types of situations — virtually any situation actually.
What are the System Requirements?
YNAB Pro requires Windows 2000 or later. YNAB requires a machine that can run either Microsoft Excel (Windows or Mac) or OpenOffice. OpenOffice is a free alternative to Microsoft Office — you may consider checking it out.
I purchased with an echeck - where’s my download?
The download information is not provided until the echeck funds clear. If you are pressed for time, contact us and we’ll see if we can’t work something out.
Can I purchase YNAB for someone else?
Yes. Simply enter their email address when ordering instead of your own.
Can I use YNAB on multiple computers?
As long as it remains limited to your personal use, yes.

Does the YNAB System track my account balances?
Yes. Picture your money separated into the different accounts you have. With YNAB you track that very easily. The power in the software, however, comes when you overlay your physical accounts with a very powerful Budgeting Methodology that will have your dollars working harder than you ever thought possible.
Basically you have the best of both worlds. And the software is easy to use to boot.
I purchased, but I haven’t received anything. Where is it?
If you bought a hard copy, it’s in the mail. If you purchased a digital download, you should have received two emails: (1) a receipt of your purchase, and (2) an email giving you the download information. If you did not receive your download information email, check your spam/junk folder and if it isn’t there, please contact us with your Order ID or purchase email.
