Android App v2.0.1.129 Fuzzy Text - w/ Screen Shot

Android App v2.0.1.129 Fuzzy Text - w/ Screen Shot

Postby wesdrums » Tue Jun 26, 2012 1:39 pm

Everything seems to work great. The one odd thing is when you add a new transaction or edit an existing one, the text fields particularly (Amount, Memo & Check #) The font looks blurry. Like it has a soft border around the edge making it hard to read. The RED amount has a soft black border, and the memo & check # has a black border. Anyone else have this experience? The payee field doesn't appear to do this. It's not a show stopper or anything. Just makes me feel like I've been drinking.. :D

This is on a Motorola Droid Razr - Android Version 2.3.6

UPDATE: My Wife's phone is also doing this, it's a Droid X2 running Android Version 2.3.5

6/27/12 UPDATE
Both phones are still doing this after the latest update.

6/29/12 UPDATE
I've updated the title of the thread to better reflect the contents of the original post.

It would be easier if we could blame it on that.

I'm using an HTC Droid Incredible 2, and not seeing it, so maybe it's unique to your phone. I suggest sending your log files to Support for a look-see. Here are Graham's instructions to do that:

Install a log reader. I recommend aLogCat.
Start aLogCat straight after you experience the problem you are trying to tell me about. Press the search button (magnifying glass), and enter YNAB as the filter text.
Once you can see lots of log output which looks as if it comes from YNAB, select Share from the menu.
From the Share menu, select the Email option (or whatever is most appropriate in your case), and send the data to support@youneedabudget.com.

I tried duplicating your entry to see what it would look like...

The thing that stands out as odd to me is that your MEMO and CHECK # fields are centered and mine aren't. Your font issues are absent from my screenshot, too.

I know this doesn't help, but it gives some point of reference.

I'm having the same unclear text issue on my Razr Maxx (Android 2.3.6) with YNAB 2.0.1.129.

I have the same thing on the number and memo fields. I have a Motorola Droid 2. From the reports in this forum it definitely seems to be device related - works with some, doesn't work right with others.

Having the same weird font issue with my Motorola Droid Razr. Not a huge deal by any means but it still looks odd. Not the crisp text that was in the previous version.

Just tested out the newest update of the app (2.0.1.131). Still the same issue on my Razr Maxx, but there is no problem with the text on my wife's HTC Thunderbolt. So this is clearly an issue only with certain devices.

At least one or two of you have sent logs in, right? If not, you could just contact YNAB Support here: http://www.youneedabudget.com/support/contact.

My phone and my wife's phone are still behaving this way, after the latest android update. For the record it looked normal with the original android (Version 1) app on both of our phones. I sent a link to this thread with the screenshot to support@youneedabudget.com. I'm sure they're swamped. I have only got the automated response thus far. Send it in about 12 hours ago or so. I figured the screen shot is most helpful. I can do a log file, but I'm not sure what that would show them in this regard, cause there isn't really an error message to speak of.
