YNAB You Need A Budget

OK, maybe I'm just so deep into my budget that I am missing something and getting frustrated here... Any advice?

My working balance in the register says $1,104.44. Here is where I am getting really frustrated... If I have a working balance of $1,104.44, and I have budgeted to zero, shouldn't my "remaining" column say $1,104.44? It says $0 available, $1.044.36 remaining... what happened to the difference ($60.08)? If my remaining column says a lower amount than my working balance, that should mean that I have a surplus that I have not yet allocated into my budget in the "available" box right? It's not there! This is really frustrating me because I am trying hard to keep this budget, but I can't have a financial program that is showing me two different balances...

How long have you had your budget going?

Often this is caused by not categorising the opening balances for your account, other issues are caused by overspending in a category or categories.

Check the library of helpful threads through the link in my signature, and scroll down the first post to the section on balancing in YNAB. If your account balances at the bank match with your register balances in YNAB then start by looking at the second thread in that section.

Post back if you are still having trouble when you've worked through the troubleshooting in that thread, and let us know how you've got on so we can help more.

Oh! Thank you so much! I looked back for months and found several things uncategorized, and a couple of months with remaining funds... Now my "unassigned" in the register is $1,044.36 as well! Thanks for making me less stressed!
