1 year Anniversary!!! Tee Hee!!!

Postby macduncan » Fri Jul 30, 2010 8:59 pm

Hi all....I started using YNAB one year August!! This app has been huge for us, I can't believe the difference it has made! We just finished Babystep 3 (saved up 5 months of expenses)....the turnaround has been amazing and YNAB has big a gigantic part of it. The communication improvements my wife and I have had with money has been tremendous, just today we sat down for 10 minutes and allocated the August budget to categories so we can plan for some things. Incredible!

My wife just remarked in the car the sense of complete relief at being able to manage our money where a year ago we didn't know what the heck we were spending it all on and were living paycheck to paycheck while crossing our fingers hoping we wouldn't bounce a check or run out of money until the next paycheck! I have no idea I did it before but sure know YNAB is now part of daily life.

I feel like I should go out to dinner, take my YNAB iPhone app out and stare longingly into the various categories like car repair, home repair, restaurants etc. Happy Anniversary YNAB! Perhaps next year I will treat YNAB to a new phone, iPhone 5!

My many many thanks to all the folks who have helped me out in the world's best and friendliest forum out there!

Bill

How amazing! And I'm sure your YNAB app would enjoy a night out on the town... better take your wife, too. :)

Congratulations! It seems like we walked through the YNAB door at the same time. I'm going to have to fire up YNAB Pro to see how far I made it in a year because I didn't import any data into YNAB3.

Congratulations Bill - to go from paycheck to paycheck to having 5 months expenses saved is an incredible accomplishment, that's amazing. I think you should go out twice!

Well done and what great inspiration Bill. I'm jealous, but hope we can boast of similar success at our 1 year YNAB anniversary. Not that I expect to have 5 months expenses saved, but certainly a much slimmer debt monster and healthier bank balances. Congratulations, and I second lautzu's double dinner celebration.
