You know you're a YNABer when your 2yo son wakes hungry at 3:30am, and while his little bright eyed bushy self is eating a banana and watching Tinker Bell, you can't help yourself and play around in YNAB trying to figure out if you can use all of your April 29 paycheck for a debt payment...

HAHA Bill! Maybe not dedication, but major excitement about the prospect of using two paychecks for debt payoff! Hmmm, or maybe that IS dedication. Or maybe I was just plain nuts for hopping on there at 3:30am. I dunno.

You know you are a YNABer when.....you are so excited it's payday, not so much because of the money, more because you get to allocate it to next month's categories!! I think I have a problem and I blame Jesse and Taylor!

You know you are a YNABer when . . .

You forget that it's payday because the paycheck is direct deposited and you don't need to worry about it until *next* month.

I'm not buffered yet, but I am strangely more aware of paydays now than I was before YNAB because I'm excited to budget it! We usually had some money still kicking around in the account before payday hit - it varied greatly from month to month, but we usually weren't jonesing for payday to buy some food or fuel. Quite often either DH or I would make a "surprise" discovery of payday in the bank account.
Goals:
1) Mini EFund $1000/$1000
2) Lumps Buffer $250/$250
3) Debt Snowball
4) Full Buffer

My name is Karen and I'm a YNABaholic.

Hi, Karen.

Ok, I do have another one.

You know you're a YNABer when you check email in the morning and see one from ING - a transaction notification. You look, see it's from EZ Pass, and instead of "$70 from our account!!!!"  you think, rather giddy, "$70 from our account. Yay! I get to enter something into YNAB!" :D  :D You also gloat to your husband that you had already planned this by budgeting $35 each month since it typically occurs every other month.

Heh Karen....I know what you mean!!! I have been budgeting the past couple months for EZ-Pass because I got caught by that a bit back where all of a sudden a $120 transaction happened. I now budget for each and am like "I dare you take it out, go ahead, I am ready for you!"

Bring it on, I have YNAB!

You know you're a YNABer when someone makes a post on Facebook asking "If you could be the spokesperson for any product on the market, what product would you choose to enthusiastically represent?" and your response is "YNAB, because it's the greatest piece of software ever written." :)

You know your a YNABer when it is 2:43am in the morning and you just got home from work and need to sleep cause you have to get up and be in work in 7hours but...I have to enter my tips into ynab. And look over the budget and smile. And read this very long list of posts that are making me crack up. I LOVE YNAB
So happy to have people that feel this way about this program. All my friends look at me like I am on something when I start telling them about my budget software!

Heh hope you got some sleep and my friends think I am crazy too! It is such a good feeling.

You know you are a YNABer when....your wife yells down the steps "we need to fix the bathroom, how much do we have in Home Repair" and your 9 year old daughter says "let me look it up in the budget Dad"!

You know you are a YNABer when....you take almost perverse pleasure in crumpling up receipts in the store right after entering the transaction in the iPhone and you say in your head "take that".

You know you are a YNABer when....you tell the person working at the bank about YNAB and he responds "sounds cool but my problem is I like to spend money" and you walk away even more thankful for YNAB!

Have a great day all.

When you find a dollar in your pocket and go through a mental process of realizing it is off-budget...

...and then find that it feels somehow more valuable than an on-budget dollar because you can do whatever you want with it... 8)

I *just* had this happen to me! I was cleaning out an old purse and found $5! I put it in a separate place in my wallet away from the on-budget cash and felt giddy at knowing it could be used for anything! :)

You know you are a YNABer when you find that stray dollar, and your first thought is that it's a balance adjustment to your cash account with the category of Fon Money . . . and you're a dollar closer to then next frivolous (but budgeted) purchase.
