Also having 1st time sync issues

Postby shepherd94 » Thu May 20, 2010 8:00 pm

I can not get a first time sync to work. When I use a regular network I get this message, "Upload Failed. The iPhone could not be found. Verify that it is connected to the same network as your computer." I have verified the network is the same including the subnet mask 255.255.255.0. IP Address for the computer is 10.0.1.5, which is the same as the IPv4 address, not sure if that is normal or not. IP address on the phone is 10.0.1.4.

When I try to sync over an ad hoc network, it also fails on upload. However before it fails it opens up an import transaction window and says that 112 transactions will be imported. When I look at the Preview of the transactions, the window is empty. This is the message that displays when it fails, "Upload Failed. The connection with the iPhone was dropped unexpectedly. Try to sync again." The IP address on the phone in this case is 169.254.247.105 and the computer is 169.254.215.230.

I have tried on 3 different wireless networks plus the ad hoc and all have returned the same results.

If you need any more info please let me know.

Thanks,
Matt

Just a quick update: Matt got himself fixed up! This was apparently due to some 3rd party software, most likely some internet filtering software. After disabling the other network related software, Matt got the sync working. Then, after reinstalling the software, it continued to work. Woo hoo!
