Have you thought about letting people view the class via the Web?

That is a fantastic idea--true long distance learning! It would give access to those in remote areas. How would you charge for it?

This is such a wonderful idea. I've only been using YNAB for a few days now, but I have already found myself wanting to spread the word of how powerful this is. I could definitely see myself getting involved with teaching some local classes once I've been using YNAB for a little longer.

I'm about 45 minutes outside of Sacramento, CA in Placerville.

Edit: I just noticed you're from Boston. I'm actually from North Attleborough originally (in a round about way at least). Hoping to possibly move back that way sometime in the not too distant future.

I just took the course that Erin taught and it was great. I learned a great deal and am very excited to have a positive outlook on my financial future. Feels good to be a YNABer.

Thank you Erin for all your hard work and preparation, I learned a lot and had fun too.

Hi Mojo702,

We are still working on it! There have been a few pilot classes and then we spent some time tweaking the teaching materials based on what we learned during the pilot classes. We have also been preparing support materials for the teachers, and hope to contact some folks soon regarding teaching the class in their areas.

Wheels are still in motion! If you have specific questions, please fire away!

Personally, I'm glad to hear this. Given the state of personal finance in most American homes, classes are really needed.

This is hilarious! I've been mulling over a thought in my head for weeks now about the possibility of putting myself out as a debt or financial coach. I want to help people learn to budget, to get out of debt, to control their finances, and to excel in life. I'm a huge Dave Ramsey and YNAB fan, and and the philosophies behind all of these teachings are imperative for peace of mind and success in life. I have a Masters of Arts in Teaching, and teaching is truly one of my biggest passions. I'm extremely interested in seeing how I might be able to connect and help with this idea of YNAB classes. I live on the east side of Cincinnati. As a graduate of Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University, I have practiced the rules for over a year now, with great results. I was turned onto YNAB after my FPU class, and free FPU online subscription, was over, and I am so glad I found it. It has tranformed my and my wife's lives, because we have taken control of our finances and set ourselves up to reach and lives out major goals.

I was on a webinar last week with a woman at my company's main office, going through a presentation for compliance purposes. I actualy veered off the critique (of me) and opened up my National City online accounts and my YNAB budget! She was sharing with me over the phone her husband's struggles to budget, and by sharing with her over the computer the system I use, she was encouraged to reapproach the whole thing with her husband, and actually asked if I could do the same with him though GoToMeeting, and go as far in depth as I want. I was so excited at this opportunity to help someone in an area that I am so passionate about. I hope this is something God is calling me to enage and grow in.

Thank you all for being a part of this, and for the chance to grow with others.

If you need someone to teach these classes in the San Antonio, Texas area ... I'd be interested.
