Canadian Banks

YNAB Basic was discontinued on December 31, 2009. You can still try your luck at getting questions answered here, but we all highly recommend you look at upgrading.

Canadian Banks

Before I purchase the software I only have one question left really and that is will it work with Canadian Banks eg. Bank of Montreal to download personal banking data?

Hi Zeus,

If your bank is compatible with Quicken or MS Money, then it’s compatible with YNAB. YNAB Pro imports OFX, QFX, QIF, and CSV files from virtually every banking institution available worldwide.

Just to be clear, YNAB Pro does not go after the data from within the software itself, you have to download it first. You can see it in action on the video below.

I have accounts with both BMO and CIBC, and both offer data exports in multiple YNAB-compatible formats.
