REPORT ALL BUGS TO bugs@youneedabudget.com

Postby jesse » Thu Dec 17, 2009 5:13 pm

This forum grew unwieldy in about 15 minutes for a few reasons:

1) duplication
2) real bugs
3) feature requests that aren't bugs, but are certainly worthy of discussion -- just not right now when the app is slower than we want and still crashing occasionally.
4) threads derailing into 17 different bugs and 5 feature requests all combined into one.

My nature is to read everything, think about everything, listen to everyone -- but it's fast becoming impossible to do so. I just didn't think we'd have this much interaction so fast. For that, I'm proud of this community of budget-focused bug piranhas and also scrambling like a madman to make sure we don't miss bug reports and miss out on good feature discussions. I certainly don't want to miss out on any concerns you have.

SO, we need to get a better system, and we now have one.

Please send your bug reports to bugs@youneedabudget.com. You'll be able to track the status, provide us updates (and we can provide you updates), etc. It will work much better.

I'm going to slowly move these threads over to the YNAB 3 forum for good feature discussion and whatnot.

Basically what we're experiencing is an Alan Thicke moment (Growing Pains).

Hi,

I receive the following error message when I start YNAB 3,

Error #2044: Unhandled missing appId:.

If I hit "continue", everything seems to work properly.

Thanks!

I happen to know that this is a well-known bug that, as you said, is completely ignorable and won't appear in the final release. No matter the case though, any bug reports should be reported by emailing bugs@youneedabudget.com. Please email your bug reports as opposed to replying to this or any other thread. There's a good chance they won't get appropriately logged unless they are emailed in.

I cannot delete scheduled transactions from the scheduled transactions list. I click, it gives me the option, I have switched screens... don't know what else to do. (I can delete them from the register, but not from the specific scheduled transactions list.)

I put them in and immediately had double entries since it didn't recognize the duplicates. I download from the bank so it is easier just to forget about them.

Anne

***NEVERMIND! it finally went away when I completely (I mean, exit, save, reopen) closed out and reopened. That is really inconvenient! Other than that, I love the new program!!!!

Hi

I am using YNAB3
First when I setup currency for euros it forces me to use the comma as the decimal place holder! I would prefer to be able choose( I prefer decimal point), or let it use my keyboard region setting!
Secondly when I try to import from my bank I get an error " cannot parse" or sometimes "Import failed". The error message shows the first amount
of the transaction with a decimal point! Therefore wondering if the import routine is defaulting to decimal point instead of commas when
parsing the import file.

I am importing a euro bank file using ofx.

Thanks in advance
Regards
robert

There is no EXE file in the download of YNAB 3. So how do I start it. I have downloaded the latest version of flash but it is not opening the flash file either.

Thanks, renaming the file downloaded from YNAB3_Live_0.9.5.1993.zip TO -> YNAB3_Live_0.9.5.1993.air fixed the issue..

I must be doing something wrong. I finally get my budget all set up. Then when I go to the bank I get a error Importing Error: There was a error while Importing: Must have data loaded before performing and input. This is crazy and I can't figure it out. Right now I had to go back to the Pro version just to get my budget caught back up. I have Windows XP and for some reason I just can't get this one to load. Also when it load I noticed it goes to the C:\ProgramFiles\YNAB3 and for some reason I can never find it. I have no control on it when it is loading but do I suppose to put it somewhere else? I use to have a YNAB folder in my documents and that is how the Pro version worked. I really need lots of help to get this YNAB3 to work. Any help from the beginning to the end would be appreciated.

When you are looking for the file in that file path, be sure that the file type showing is set to 'all' so that the file will show.

I don't know if I can be much more help than that as I do not use importing.

Import duplication

Postby jeffodman » Wed Mar 17, 2010 11:05 am

I ended up with duplicate entries after importing a larger date range in order to make sure I didn't miss any transactions in the past 60 days. Import was approx. 200 transactions.

I just downloaded the latest update (v3.1.9.2503) and started it. There is now a bold gray line down the accounts pages, about 2.25 inches from the left of the registry. It does not appear to be functional or related to any of my column setting and I cannot get rid of it.

Hi Joel,
Could you send a screenshot along? I'm sure we'd all love to see something so strange! (And then promptly get the the thing fixed)>

I'm all of a sudden having troubles with my YNAB v3.1.9.2503 which I think is related to Adobe AIR. I was prompted about 2wks ago to update AIR so I did. And now, randomly, YNAB fails to work. Sometimes it just takes forever to load, and maybe crashes or maybe fixes itself. Sometimes it fires up right away. Sometimes an AIR window pops up with some weird error messages, sometimes not. I have Diagnostics enabled and the next time I get the AIR message I will copy the info, but until then, is there anything I can do to send some of this data anywhere?

What about using a full bug tracking software, like http://www.mantisbt.org/, for example on http://www.youneedabudget.com/bugtracking/ ?
