Unless I missed something here, paying $34.95 for those who have been using YNAB Pro longer makes sense and let's face it, Jesse isn't going to be able to please everyone here. To be honest, I know times are tough financially for most if not all of us, but I'm a bit surprised long time users are even complaining about the $34.95. Compared to a lot of finance software out there that isn't nearly as helpful (Quicken and MS Money anyone?) and costs twice as much, I can't complain. That's a good deal. If the software hasn't worked that well for you and if you don't think it's worth that then why complain? If it's not worth it, it shouldn't be that hard to move on.

Oh, yay! Thanks for that, Jesse! What a pleasant surprise! Free for me now, too!

So us long term users get to pay the penalty Nice!!
Not sure it's worth it to me.

It's not worth $35 to upgrade to this truly awesome-sounding software that will do so much more than the current (still awesome) version of YNAB and has taken literally years of hard work? I disagree. I paid more than that for the current version, so it actually seems like a bargain to me. :)

I've been using YNAB for just over a year, and thanks to YNAB i'm off for a 9 week holiday around south america in less than a month. Nice!!
Oh, and it's also helped me buy a $5,000 racing mountain bike. Nice!!!
Oh, and thanks to rule 3 I have money put aside for all my large bills, so no more surprise bills. Nice!!!

But still not sure if it's worth it for me to upgrade to the fancy new version that probably costs me less than 1cent per developer hour.

Than again, my YNAB 3 category is already fully funded. And with the US dollar dropping, I have spare money left over for the YNAB 4 upgrade.

I have been using YNAB pro for nearly 2 years and have never regretted purchasing it. With all the free upgrades, great forums, awesome customer support and not to mention all the money I've not spent on frivolous items  , I still see YNAB 3 as a bargain.

YNAB has paid for itself many times over for me, and the additional features that YNAB3 is offering are worth the extra for me. I must be the only one hoping Jesse waits to release so I can get a cash injection in time to pay for it.

Can't wait for the release! Thanks Jesse for reconsidering the pricing. I hope the process of figuring it all out wasn't too much of a nightmare. The demo videos look incredible.

Sort of echoing what others have said, but I've been using YNAB for something like 2 1/2 years now - it was worth every penny then and it will be worth every penny to get YNAB 3, considering all of the useful features that are being added. No complaints from me.

Once YNAB 3 is released, it will be time to tackle the next project - YNAB app for iPhone! Right? Right? C'mon, please - I'm begging!

I'm gonna go ahead and go the opposite route... Can I pay the full $35 for the beta? I bought in February I think.

I was planning on $35 after the first officially announced prices and that's what it's worth to me... Yeah, it's only $5 more, but it's the principle of the thing you know?

Thanks for a great product!!

Greetings, Jesse, there will always be naysayers. Here's a big XOXOXO from a YAYsayer - I am not only grateful for being able to buy YNAB3 at what I consider to be a bargain price (yes, I will be among those paying in full) but really for your wonderful upfront and public thought process about it. I especially love that you have had your user's best interests in mind while needing to insure that the venture turns a profit, and as I have said before, I feel like any of us who are presently on board are watching the creation of a world-beating enterprise from the ground up. You truly model what you espouse and you have my deep admiration. Thank you for including us in your musings and letting us see how the wheels turn.

But even more, thank you for this totally AWESOME software which continues to lead me to and keep me in solvency. YNAB is my financial GPS and you have definitely lit a candle in the darkness that was where I found myself before YNAB. (Maybe not exactly, because I did undertake some wise financial behaviors in paying off the credit cards before finding YNAB, but it would be no exaggeration to say that I have a roadmap in YNAB unlike any other, except for what YNAB3 will bring :). )

Blessings to you and yours, Jesse, and a hearty THANK YOU for all you are doing. I will be a promoter in any way I can.

Jesse, I don't recall seeing anything about getting the beta that you had listed "for all existing Pro and Basic customers, you'll be able to purchase beta access for $34.95." Now I see that I'm only able to get a "public beta" at $49. Did I miss something like an email??? What's going on? I was hoping to help beta and rigorously test things for you.

I can't afford another $50 let alone $60. I'm hosed.
