"Save As" Function

YNAB 4 discussion should happen here.

"Save As" Function

Postby scottrichards » Sat Jun 30, 2012 11:36 pm

Under "File" I see options for Save a Version. Is there any way for me to re-title a version as I used to be able to do with the "Save As" function in YNAB 3 under File?

By the way, I love most of the changes in 4 and look forward to more great discoveries as I get familiar with it. Thanks for all your hard work on the development and the reasonable upgrade price for multiple computers.

Yes, we have a "duplicate" or "Save As" function that we'd like to put in there. In the meantime, you can duplicate the file manually in your file manager, but that's not a real answer. Just a workaround until we can put it in.

You're quite welcome! Thanks for the kind words. :)

You can rename your budget file via the budget properties dialog within YNAB4:

File > Budget Properties

Enter your new budget name within the field and click on "save changes"
Create a scuba budget category and explore the deep blue

Be aware that what you've done is just renaming, it doesn't actually create another copy for you. That's still coming.
