Looking forward to trying it out. Will there be a new release of the iPhone app on Tuesday as well to complete the dropbox syncing?

I just finished reading the email! A lot of new features, very nice, looking forward to upgrading to YNAB 4. Just wondering about the Android and iPhone apps, will updates to them be released at the same time?

BTW, since Dropbox is the new "cloud sync" method, can we start a Dropbox referral thread for all the YNAB users that currently don't have a Dropbox account? Great way to increase both the new and existing Dropbox users free drive space.

Any plans to allow Google Drive as my choice for cloud sync? I don't really like or want to use Dropbox.

This is great news. Even the waiting time isn't that long (I'm cursing you, Samsung and your delicious new phones).

Free cloud services are... free. Talk about raining on the parade.

Raining on the parade? Please, go troll somewhere else. I'm asking a productive question.

This all comes down to organization. Do I want to manage 3 different cloud services? No.

Do you keep your folded clothes in one location? Probably, because it's easier to keep up with. When you want a shirt to wear, you go to that drawer. I don't want my folded t-shirts in 3 different closets. Same issue with my data, I want it centralized. I'm excited about the release, sure, but I'm also thinking ahead.

Dropbox is free.
Google Drive is free.
SugarSync is free.
Windows SkyDrive is free.

You can't make your justification just on something being "free". And by the way, I think YNAB 4.1 should support at least the 4 cloud services above and allow the user to choose.

Where I certainly agree with your point and add that having to signup for with another company, even if it's a free account, in order to enjoy the benefits of cloud syncing isn't the "best" solution but it is a solution. A solution that many, many posts have been crying about for a very long time. This is a great starting point and hopefully offerings will be expanded over time. Personally, I'd like a YNAB in house solution because at least I'm paying YNAB for their product. Who's to say these "free" services can't use your data for their own purposes with just a few changes to their privacy agreements. Who's to say these free cloud solutions don't get bought or merged with other companies there by risking the functionality. At least with an in house solution, if YNAB changes the cloud solution would likely change with it. However, there are no "perfect" solutions but I certainly appreciate that as of Tuesday cloud sync will become a reality regardless of what I have to do to get it working including signing up with an account at another company. Personally, I think, YNAB should have worked out some deal with Dropbox due to all the new customers Dropbox will receive as a result.

Looks great, but my real question is how the Android apps are going to work with this. I bought the Android app at the beginning of the year and have not used it at all since the sync mechanism then makes it worthless.

Will the Android app still cost? Will I have to pay again for Android app?

I've just made two new posts that address some of the great questions you're asking!

1) A few more details on cloud sync (Covers how it works with mobile, etc)
2) Support for Google Drive, iCloud, SugarSync, or SkyDrive?

Hi Thorrrr,

We have beta tested the heck out of this thing. If you were a beta tester for YNAB 3 though, I can see why this might have been confusing. We created a new beta test group specifically for YNAB 4.
