YNAB You Need A Budget

It’s the 1st September today.
I synced my phone last night so I was up to date with my budget and transactions but today I notice the phone app is still showing me the budget balances for August. Which isn’t great as it suggests I’m skint.

Entering transactions with a September date subtracts the amount from Augusts budget.

Does the app only store one months budget in its memory?
Do I need to ensure I re-sync on the 1st of each month to re-load the current months budget?
