Install YNAB on another computer
Unlike other software you may be familiar with, we're perfectly okay with you installing our desktop software onto as many computers as you need for your personal/household use. More details can be found in our End User License Agreement.

Download YNAB to your new (or additional) computer and run the installer by double-clicking the file.

The first thing YNAB will do is prompt you for your activation key. Paste your activation key into the field. (Retrieve your key here if you don't have it.)
Steam users: You can retrieve your key by way of Help>About>Copy Activation Key to Clipboard in the YNAB menu.

We recommend you use Cloud Sync to manage your data between multiple machines, and your mobile devices. The software will walk you through the setup process. If you need more help we have a guide for that.

If you elect to NOT use Cloud Sync, you'll need to manually transfer your budget file to your new computer. If you need more help we have a guide for that as well.

If you no longer want to keep YNAB on the computer you started with then you can safely uninstall it after you've succesfully moved your budget to the new computer.
Whether you use Cloud Sync or not, we highly recommend you back up your file in a safe location on a regular basis. We don’t have access to your budget files and cannot back them up for you. You will need to manage this very important task.
