Roboform and some tablet drivers cripple performance

Does switching budget months in YNAB 4 take a long time?

Like over 10 seconds long? Are you running Windows? Thanks to some excellent sleuthing by some dedicated customers, we believe we've found the culprit: Roboform.

If you use Roboform, go into the settings and blacklist YNAB 4, or disable Applications Integration all together. We've discovered it causes major slowdowns with YNAB 4. We are investigating with the Roboform team.

UPDATE (July 11th, 2012): Roboform has reported that they fixed the bug in their software, and that it will be included in their next update. If that is true, this issue will go away once Roboform releases that update.

For a while, the Tablet PC Input Service was also found to impact performance, but we have addressed that in our most recent release of YNAB 4. If you update YNAB 4 to the latest version (at least version 4.0.941), this will no longer be an issue.

If disabling Roboform doesn't work, running as administrator seems to solve the issue. Right-click on the shortcut to YNAB 4 and click Run as administrator

Going forward:
These are workarounds, and we agree you shouldn't have to do them. We have alerted Roboform and as of July 11th, 2012, Roboform has stated they fixed the bug and will include it in their next release. Our latest release of YNAB 4 also improves performance on the Budget and should help with performance in general.
